Wow the "my first phone" bell commercial with that mickey mouse phone. Yesterday I watched a video of someone reviewing the tiaras bayou adventure ride at Disney and he saw a payphone and was so surprised ("when was the last time I saw one of those? I must be getting old!"). Maybe landlines style phones are making a comeback now

Go to any major airport and there are still tons of payphones. They're actually still in a lot of places, but many people ignore them because they have no use for them.

Last night, I was watching Hart to Hart and Max wore an apron that said "I can't hack it without my food processor," and these commercials are a few years older than that show but close enough it is interesting there's a food processor commercial in this video. It would be fun to see a late 70s/early 80s food processor cookbook, some vintage cookbooks are great, maybe they can publish a new one inspired by the style and recipes from this time

"I've posted this before, but here it is again. Because it's awesome" No joke, the Wrigley's jingle might be my favourite 80's jingle of all time. Ever since I found the ad, my husband and I would randomly sing the jingle to each other and point out all the 80's movie references. I would legit buy that song if it was ever released as a single, it's that good.

Frigidaire Washing Machine- I always find it fun to watch the clothes moving around in the washing machine like the ones in this commercial. Philips’ Milk Of Magnesia- With a bottle as huge as the one in this commercial, the manufacturer must expect consumers to drink it as if it were water. Kool-Aid- I like how very plainly designed the sugar container looks in this commercial, especially at 4:03.

To anyone born after the 90s, we didnt have cell phones. And since Nick or Treat was from 6pm-10pm(prime trick or treat hours), you uad to skip trick or treating, and sit next to the house phone all night in the hopes you would win. I had a friend who missed out on getting candy because he thought he would win. It was a rip off 🤣🤣🤣💯💯. But Nick or Treat was still a HUGE part of 90s childhood 💯. You would get back fron trick or treat, sit in front of the tv with your candy, and watch Nick or treat, just hoping they call you during the last commercial break. Honestly, besides all the gangs, bullying, and killings.. being a kid during the 90s was kinda sick 🤣💯💯💯

I’ve apparently watched anime since I was 2 years old- Grimm’s Fairy Tale Classics, Noozles, Maya the Bee, the Adventures of Little Koala were all on Nick Jr. in the late 80s/early 90s. Robotech walked so that Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, Evangelion, Gundam Wing (among many others) could run.

The New Scooby-Doo Movies a)-the current Batman/Scooby-Doo comic is ok Robotech-looking more and more like the live-action film(or revival of any kind for that matter) will never happen..☹ Alpha-Bits-if Ghostbusters Afterlife were to have been made back then, the girl would be Phoebe Spengler Hot Wheels Crack-Ups-imagine if there were a Fall Guy tie-in with Ernie narrating the ad Heathcliff-love that bit at the end, kind of a tribute to those"barbarian" movie posters The New Scooby-Doo Movies b) Scooby in a affair..? That's not like him 😆 Pop Tarts-that guy was also in the Milk ad w/ the jingle copying Adam Ant's"Goody Two-Shoes" Give A Hoot, Don't Pollute-with Frank Welker as the voice of Woodsy Owl Golden Grahams-forget Wheaties, this cereal was actually the preferred choice for young athletes Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!-him and the Mystery Machine gang must've been chasing a ghost around the KCOP studios

Yeah. It's because ad men were paid big bucks to make catchy, memorable ads for basically everything. Pepsi, and Coke had a legit song war for the whole decade with the biggest stars of the era! TV formats changed in the late 90's and ads (and intros) got shorter.

    • @kpegc

I think that the passion and creativity that went into great advertising just started disappearing going into the 2000s, and that's just one of the symptoms. The writers, agencies, and staff just don't care anymore in my opinion.

From a 90s kid presecpitve(Born in 85), 80's cereal had better box art design compared to 90s Cereal boxes. Not as loud or flashy! Cereals in the 80s seem to be more simpler, looking at you Trix(hated the design change from puffs to fruit shapes), Lucky Charms(Hated the changes in Marshmallow shapes), and Fruit Loops (Lime flavored fruit loops felt out of place with the Orange, Lemon and Cherry).

The Case of the Littering Louse was an early work of playwright, David Mamet, and while early in his career, shows the complexity he would display in works such as Glengarry Glen Ross and American Buffalo. Hi-C Candy Apple Cooler- It’s a nice jolt of nostalgia for me, seeing how the Hi-C used to come in Cans like the one at 0:50 in addition to the juice boxes. Alpha Bits- The design of the animated girl character in this commercial reminds me of the design of Eliza Thornberry, from the Nickelodeon cartoon, “The Wild Thornberrys”.
